The Agriculture College is one of the leading college of UCBMS&H, Dehradun. The Agriculture College offers undergraduate program (B.Sc. – Agriculture) and Post graduate program (M.Sc. (Ag) – Agronomy), with an aim to provide job oriented course to the students.
Academic development is a continuous process in which modifications are always required, therefore the College of Agriculture tries to establish some program to create interest of the students towards presence in the class, learning attitude and active participation in the field activities.
Field Activities are the most important and essential part of agricultural studies, in this regards the college, engaged students to the field activities like land preparation, seed sowing, crop management, weeding, insect – pest and diseases management etc.
Agriculture is a science mainly of basic crop production, taking care of crops, how to get maximum productivity from crops and trees etc.

LIBRARY:The College library consists of about more than 500 books and online books on different disciplines on Agricultural Science. The books are available on weekly renewal basis to the students and the staff. The library is equipped with reading facilities for 100 students at a time.
EVENTS:The College of Agriculture Science conducts various activity likes – Sports, Watching motivational movies, Indoor & out door games, Street play, debate, group discussion, creative work etc.
TYPES OF AGRICULTURE COURSES
Agronomy: Basics of Agronomy, Field Crops (Kharif), Field Crops (Rabi), Crop Production, Weed Management, Irrigation Techniques, Water resource management, Organic Farming, Sustainable agriculture. Apart from theoretical subjects, practical sessions are also involved, in case of these subjects.
Plant Genetics: Botany, Basics of Genetics, Plant Breeding, Seed Technology, Basics of Biotechnology. Apart from the above mentioned theoretical subjects, practical sessions involving these subjects are also present.
Soil Science: Introduction to Soil Science, Soil Fertility, Soil Chemistry, Fertilizers, Agricultural Chemistry. Apart from the above mentioned theoretical subjects, practical sessions involving the subjects are also present.
Entomology: Pest Management, Beneficial Insects, Grain Storage and Management. Like the above entries, along with theoretical subjects, practical sessions involving them are also present.
Agricultural Economics: Market prices, Trade prices, Marketing, Finance, Agribusiness Management, Farm Management. Along with the theoretical subjects, practical sessions involving them are also present.
Agriculture Engineering: Agriculture Machinery, Power and Tools, Harvest Technology, Environment Science and Engineering, Renewable Energy. Along with the theoretical subjects, practical sessions involving them are also present.
Agricultural Meteorology: Climate patterns, Climatic hazards on Agriculture, Climatic Zones, Weather forecasting. Practical sessions related to the theoretical subjects are also present.
Plant Pathology: Crop Diseases, Nematology. Practical sessions related to the theoretical subjects are also present.
Horticulture: Fruit Crops, Medicinal Plants, Aromatic Plants, Flower Production, Spices, Plantation Crops. Practical sessions related to the theoretical subjects are also present.
Agricultural Extension: Dimensions of Agricultural Extension, Extension Methodologies, Entrepreneurship Development program. Practical sessions related to the theoretical subjects are also present.
It is the mother of all plant sciences right from basic crop production, breeding, animal husbandry, farm management. Studies on soil, crop cycle, water management, land development techniques, agrometerology, insect pest management, study f allied subjects like sericulture, apiculture, poultry management, milk & milk products management are essential part of it. The need and demand for the food will sustain for ages and hence acquiring the systematic knowledge makes this course a top priority among the promising students.
It is a Latin word which means ‘garden cultivation’. It is the branch of agriculture which deals in raising and production of plants especially fruits, vegetables, flowers. It also includes cultivation of ornamental plants (plants grown for decorative purposes), management of garden, orchard, nursery etc.
It is the branch that deals with the plantation, care, conservation and management of forest. It also maintains the balance between the flora- fauna, recreation, water quality management etc. Forests are the valuable asset of biosphere and forestry has emerged as an important landmark in education.
