BENEFITS OF KITCHEN GARDEN

BENEFITS OF KITCHEN GARDEN

Due to awareness most of the peoples buy organic vegetables these days to ensure freshness. Vegetables which are grown in our garden are fresh, healthy and free from pesticides. By creating a little kitchen garden of your own you feel that the problem of chemicals in food can be tackled via a few potted plants. The manure of the kitchen garden can be supplemented by kitchen waste and sweepings. If we inoculate it with vermiculture it would enrich the soil. Vegetables and fruits when grown organically have higher degree of nutrients in them. Not only the vegetables, kitchen garden is an instant source of fruits, medicinal herbs, flowers etc. In Uttarakhand, Coriander, Coleus, Mint, Curry leaves, Holy Basil, Fenugreek, Amaranth, chili, tomato etc are the common examples of herbs and greens grown in kitchen garden.
