My research and academic training is on the subjects related to Forestry, Natural Resources Management, and renewable energy (biomass and bio-energy), in the Indian Himalayas, Japan and South Africa. I have my Ph.D. in Forestry from HNB Garhwal University (A Central University), while I have completed my Ph.D. work at G. B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development (An Autonomous Institute of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India). I am recipient of UNU-IAS Postdoctoral Fellowship of the United Nations University-Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability, Japan and University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I have also worked with an international sustainability group at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa. I am also recipient of Senior Research Fellowship, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, Govt. of India. I am also member of various international and national networks working for a sustainable future.
I have internationally working experience with a multi-cultural work environment.
I have published the results of my research in over 35 national and international refereed journals. I am a reviewer for several refereed journals one of them is Biomass and Bioenergy. My research findings have been adopted and extensively used by various stakeholders and organizations.
Currently, my research interests include; Sustainability, the NRM, Forestry, the energy and resources uses, adaptive management, biodiversity and ecosystem services, socio-economic and ecological systems, ecosystem management and conservation.
