“Department Of HorticultureCampus Workshop Report (13/09/2018- 14/09/2018)”

This two days’ workshop was held in department of horticulture organized by department faculty and HOD Dr Abhishek Bahuguna (HOD), Mr. Kaushal upadhyay, Assistant Professor, and Miss Neelam devrari Assistant Professor, Department of Horticulture, UCBMSH. The horticulture students participate in the workshop. The lecture was delivered by departmental faculties.

This workshop was completed with following objectives:
i. To know about the processing unit.
ii. To know about how to prepare chutney, jam, juice, chips, appetizer, RTS and pickle.
iii. To know how to use instrument (Refractometer).
iv. To know the importance of value added product and their nutritional value.
v. To know about importance of fruit and vegetables.

We started this workshop at 9.30 am, following things were learnt by students:
1 lecture given by on the topic of:
a) Preservation methods
b) Importance of post-harvest
c) Value added product
d) Use of Refractometer
2. Identification of instruments and value added product
3. Preparation of mixed pickle, mixed jam apple ginger chutney, apple juice and different products are made by students.
