LECTURE SUMMARY
On July 15th, The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology and Medical Microbiology organized the guest lecture on the topic of “Infection and Immunity”. Which focused on the how does the immunity work to fight against the disease as well as how autoimmune disease takes place after defeating the body’s own immunity. During the lecture our student smartly interacted with the speaker about the infection and immunity.
On that day, our Guest speaker was Dr. Natasha Makkar, MD Pathologist working as Assistant Professor in department of Pathology, Government Doon Medical College, DEHRADUN. She is well versed with clinical Laboratory Management, routine work of all departments including histopathology and cytopathology. Also involved in quality management system, audits and laboratory training programmes.
In the beginning of the lecture, our first year BMLT student Ms. Mansi Wadhwa gave a beautiful welcome speech for guest. The keynote speaker had mentioned in their lecture was about immunity, types of immunity, organs that involved in immunity. Dr. Natasha also spoke about the infectious causing agents and detailed about autoimmune diseases.
During the day , 150 & above students were participated in the lecture. Students benefited a lot with lecture. And they have also shared their thoughts and doubts with the speakers. Session lasted 90 minutes. And at the end , our first year student Ms. Mansi Wadhwa gave a vote of thanks to guest. With all those word session has completed and students left the auditorium.
