About the conference-
The economy of a developing nation like India is depends largely on productive agriculture and healthy livestock. India has 2nd largest population in the world with a population size of about 1.35 billion with its land area of 3,287,349 Km2. Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for about 58 per cent of India’s population. Gross Value Added by agriculture, forestry and fishing is estimated at Rs 17.67 trillion in Fiscal year 2018. This main objective of the conference is to focus on the “Role of agricultural diversification in Indian economy” under the following thematic areas:
- Economy of agricultural diversification in the hilly areas of India
- Region specific crop diversification models.
- Innovative cultivation practices of non traditional crops.
- Marketing and production management of non traditional agricultural crops
